How to say “stumbles” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
بينا تجري براكبها عثرت به أي عثار،
While it runs with its rider, it stumbles with him — what a stumble!
عَثَرَتْ — it stumbled. A past-tense verb meaning 'it stumbled', its feminine ending agreeing with the horse. The switch from the surrounding present to this past tense marks the stumble as the sudden completed jolt that breaks the ongoing run, which is the dramatic point of the line.
