Arabic vocabulary
How to say “suffer” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال هم الجلساء لا يشقى بهم جليسهم
He said: They are the sitting companions; no one who sits with them will be wretched.
يَشْقَى — bring misery. A present verb 'becomes wretched / comes to grief' (its weak final letter shows in the bare ending). Negated, it promises that no companion of theirs is left wretched. Its subject comes after the 'by them' phrase.
