Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the dawn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَكَانَ لَا يَرَى رُؤْيًا إِلَّا جَاءَتْ مِثْلَ فَلَقِ الصُّبْحِ،
He would see no vision except that it came like the break of dawn.
الصُّبْحِ — the dawn. This noun owns the preceding 'break', completing 'break of the dawn', so it sits in the genitive and carries the 'the' marker that makes the whole pairing definite. It supplies the 'of dawn' half of the image.
