How to say “the ears” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَفْرِغْ فِي أَصْدَافِ الْأَسْمَاعِ مِنْ أَلْفَاظِهِ دُرَرًا،
And he poured out pearls from his words into the shells of ears.
الْأَسْمَاعِ — the ears. A definite noun 'the ears', the owning term completing 'the shells of the ears', hence the genitive with al-. It closes the construct, figuratively standing for the listeners. The of-pairing carries the relation with no separate word.
