Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the house” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
تَخْرُبُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ الدِّينَ بَعْدَ أَنْ تَخْرَبَ الدَّارَ،
One of the women ruins the religion after the house is ruined.
الدَّارَ — the house. Carries al- ('the'), making it specific, and is the thing ruined — the object of the verb before it, so it takes the object ending. It names the house. Even though the verb reads as 'is ruined', the construction keeps this noun as its grammatical object in the original phrasing.
