Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the religion” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
تَخْرُبُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ الدِّينَ بَعْدَ أَنْ تَخْرَبَ الدَّارَ،
One of the women ruins the religion after the house is ruined.
الدِّينَ — the religion. Carries al- ('the'), making it specific, and is the thing the verb acts upon — the direct object of 'ruins', so it takes the object ending. It names what is destroyed: religion. The definiteness treats it as the known, specific faith.
