Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the little treasure” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَحْمِلُ أُمِّي وَهِيَ الحَمَّالَةُ تُرْضِعُنِي الدِّرَةَ وَالعُلَالَةَ
I carry my mother, and she, the carrier, nurses me the pearl and the little treasure.
وَالعُلَالَةَ — and the little treasure. The front wa- adds a second figurative object alongside the first, joining 'the little treasure' to it, and the noun carries al- and the object-style -a ending. As a second object under the same verb it matches the first in case. So it continues the verse's imagery for the mother's nourishment.
