Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the man” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قُرْبُ ذَوِيِ الرَّجُلِ وَالْقَرَّابَةِ
The closeness of the man's relatives and kinship.
الرَّجُلِ — the man. Carries al- ('the') and completes the possessive chain as the final owner — 'the man' whose kin are meant. Being the owned end of the link, it takes the genitive ending. It closes the idea that the closeness in question is that of the man's own relatives.
