How to say “the moon” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَجَعَلْتُ أَمْشِيُ فِي ظِلِّ الْقَمَرِ
So I began to walk in the moon's shade.
الْقَمَرِ — the moon. The definite noun 'the moon' as the owner half of 'shade of the moon', set directly beside the word for shade with no separate 'of'. It carries the genitive form required of the second slot in such a pairing and lends its definiteness back to the phrase.
