Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the provision” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ذَلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهَلْ الْمَتَاعُ إِلَّا عَارِيَةٌ تُعَارُ،
That is the provision of worldly life; and is the provision anything but a loan that is lent?
الْمَتَاعُ — the provision. Carries al- ('the') and is the subject of the rhetorical question — the provision again, repeated for force. Restating the noun rather than using a pronoun keeps the focus hammered on the same thing. The definiteness ties it back to the provision already named.
