فَقَالَ لِي يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ أَمَّا عَلِمْتَ أَنِّي لَا أَخَافُ مِنَ الْعَصَا وَلَا مِنَ الأَسْلِحَةِ
So he said to me, "O Abu Sa'id, did you not know that I do not fear the stick or the weapons?"
الْعَصَا — the stick. Definite by 'al-' and held in the genitive by the preposition before it. It names the first thing dismissed as no threat. The article frames it as the very stick the dreamer meant to use.
