How to say “the sweetness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لِأَنَّ حَلَاوَةَ اللَّذَّاتِ اِسْتَحَالَتْ حَنْظَلًا؛
Because the sweetness of pleasures has turned into bitterness.
حَلَاوَةَ — the sweetness. A noun ('the sweetness') that is the subject of the causal clause, carrying the accusative ending demanded by the particle before it. It also heads an 'of' pairing with the next word, so it gives up its own 'the' and takes definiteness from 'the pleasures'.
