How to say “the weapons” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ لِي يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ أَمَّا عَلِمْتَ أَنِّي لَا أَخَافُ مِنَ الْعَصَا وَلَا مِنَ الأَسْلِحَةِ
So he said to me, "O Abu Sa'id, did you not know that I do not fear the stick or the weapons?"
الأَسْلِحَةِ — the weapons. A plural noun made definite by 'al-' and held in the genitive by the preposition before it. It names the second category dismissed as harmless. The plural shape covers weapons in general, not one weapon.
