Arabic vocabulary
How to say “their heads” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَعَجِبُوا مِنْ جُرْأَةِ إِبْنِهِ فَنَكَسُوا رُؤُوسَهُمْ
They were astonished at his son's audacity, so they bowed their heads.
رُؤُوسَهُمْ — their heads. A broken-plural noun ('heads') with -hum fixing 'their', standing as the object of the bowing and so in the object-style ending. Arabic reshapes the singular internally to make this plural rather than just adding an ending.
