Arabic vocabulary
How to say “they become ready” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يُرَوِّحُ عَنْ النُّفُوسِ لِتَسْتَعِدَّ لِسَمَاعِ مَواعِظِهِ،
He refreshes the souls so that they are ready to hear his admonitions.
لِتَسْتَعِدَّ — so that they become ready. This attaches the purpose-preposition 'so that' to a verb and bends it into the 'aim' subjunctive shape, agreeing as plural with the souls. The single prefix both marks purpose and triggers the changed ending, giving 'so they may be ready'.
