How to say “they sought” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ طَلَبُوهَا وَبَذَلُوا لَهَا الْأَمْوَالَ،
And indeed they sought her and spent money on her,
طَلَبُوهَا — they sought her. A past-tense verb with the plural ending for a 'they' subject AND the suffix '-ha' ('her') fused on as object, so 'they sought her' is one word. Both the plural doer and the object pronoun are attached to the verb.
