Arabic vocabulary
How to say “they spent” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَدْ طَلَبُوهَا وَبَذَلُوا لَهَا الْأَمْوَالَ،
And indeed they sought her and spent money on her,
وَبَذَلُوا — and they spent. The connector wa- ('and') fused to a past-tense plural verb ('they spent'); the wa- coordinates this action with 'they sought'. The plural ending carries the 'they' subject, so the doer is built into the verb.
