How to say “they took shelter” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
حَتَّى آوْوُوا الْمَبِيتَ إِلَى غَارٍ فَدَخَلْوُهُ،
Until they took shelter for the night in a cave and entered it.
آوْوُوا — they took shelter. A past-tense verb whose ending marks a plural 'they' subject, so the form itself counts the doers without a separate pronoun. It supplies the action reached at the endpoint named by the particle before it.
