Arabic vocabulary
How to say “to be shy, to feel bashful” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ
Indeed, God is not ashamed of the truth.
يَسْتَحْيِي — he is ashamed. A present-tense verb 'is ashamed' carrying a third-person masculine 'he', negated by the particle before it. Its built-in 'he' refers to God, the subject named earlier. The present-tense form expresses a standing truth rather than a one-off event — God never shies from the truth.
