How to say “town” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فلما حل الهدم بودي سارة منع الولدان يجوز،
When the ruin befell Sarah’s town, children were no longer allowed to pass.
بِوُدِّي — in the town of. The 'with/in' prefix is a preposition forcing the genitive, and the noun it governs heads a possessive pairing, 'the town of Sarah'. So it both locates where the ruin fell and opens the 'of' relationship completed by the proper name next.
