Arabic vocabulary
How to say “treatment” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَعِلَاجُ الأَبْدَانِ أَيْسَرُ خَطَبًا حِينَ تَعْتَلُ مِنْ عِلَاجِ الْعُقُولِ
And the treatment of bodies is an easier matter when they fall ill than the treatment of minds.
وَعِلَاجُ — and treatment. The leading wa- ties this whole statement onto the previous discussion as a continuation, not a fresh start. What follows is the head of an 'of' pairing: 'treatment' owns the next word, so it gives up the article and leans on that following noun to complete its meaning. Arabic builds 'the treatment of X' by parking two nouns side by side, with no separate word for 'of'.
