Arabic vocabulary
How to say “voice” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَنَادَى بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ،
Then he cried out in his loudest voice, "I bear witness that there is no god but God."
صَوْتِهِ — of his voice. A noun closing an 'of' pairing: it is 'voice' owned by the attached -hi 'his'. The owner sits glued to the end, and because the first part ('loudest') leans on it, the two read as one chain, 'his loudest voice'.
