وَرَمَى بِهِ وَرَاءَ الحَائِطِ
He threw it behind the wall.
الحَائِطِ — the wall. The al- marks this as the definite, specific wall. Following the 'behind' word, it takes the post-preposition case shown by its final vowel. It is the landmark the stick was thrown past.
