وَلِهَذَا كَانَت الْعِبَادَة لَا تصلح إِلَّا لله
And for this reason, worship is suitable for none but Allah.
كَانَتِ — it was. This is the past tense of the verb 'to be' carrying a feminine 'it' subject, the verb Arabic uses to anchor a description in past or settled time. The feminine ending agrees with the feminine noun 'worship' that follows as its subject.
