How to say “will you be recompensed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا ﴿هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ﴾
A fitting recompense. Will you be recompensed except for what you used to do?
تُجْزَوْنَ — will you be recompensed. This is the passive form of the verb ('you are recompensed'): the addressees receive the action rather than doing it. Arabic marks the passive by reshaping the verb's inner vowels, not by a helper word. The -na ending carries the 'you (plural)' subject inside the verb.
