Arabic vocabulary
How to say “wisdom” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ولا تدخل الحكمة معدة ملئت طعاما،
Wisdom does not enter a stomach that is full of food.
الْحِكْمَةُ — the wisdom. This is the subject of 'does not enter', marked by its subject ending, and it is grammatically feminine, which is why the verb carries a feminine form. The 'al-' makes it definite, treating wisdom as a known thing.
