How to say “woman” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَتَأْتِي الْمَرْأَةُ لِتَسْأَلَهُ وَتَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،
And the woman comes to ask him and says, 'O Messenger of God,'
الْمَرْأَةُ — the woman. Carries al- ('the'), making it specific, and is the doer of 'comes' just before it — the delayed subject in the verb-first order. As the agent it takes the nominative ending. The definiteness presents 'the woman' as a representative, known type in the scene.
