A mouse that had claws and fangs of iron.
جُرْذًا — a mouse. An indefinite noun introducing a new figure into the story, here in the object-style ending as the thing brought onto the scene by the preceding narration. Left indefinite, it presents 'a rat' as a fresh actor, set up to be described by the words that follow about its claws and fangs.
