Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a vessel” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَمَا تَرَكْتُ لَهُمْ بِنَاءً إِلَّا هَدَمْتُهُ وَلَا إِنَاءً إِلَّا أَكْفَأْتُهُ
So I left them no building that I did not demolish, nor any vessel that I did not overturn.
إِنَاءً — a vessel. This indefinite noun is the object in the parallel clause, a vessel none of which was spared, marked by the object ending. Its indefinite ending suits the 'no vessel at all' force under the negation. The 'except' clause after it gives the exception.
