Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I overturned” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَمَا تَرَكْتُ لَهُمْ بِنَاءً إِلَّا هَدَمْتُهُ وَلَا إِنَاءً إِلَّا أَكْفَأْتُهُ
So I left them no building that I did not demolish, nor any vessel that I did not overturn.
أَكْفَأْتُهُ — I overturned it. This is a past-tense verb with 'I' in its ending and an 'it' object-pronoun attached, so one word means 'I overturned it'. The 'it' points back to each vessel just mentioned. It states what was done to every container the exception singles out.
