Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a young man” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهَلْ شَيْءٌ أَقْبَحُ مِنْ شَابٍّ يَخْدِمُ السُّنَّةَ وَلَا يَعْمَلُ بِهَا ؟
Is there anything more disgraceful than a young man who serves the Sunnah and does not act on it?
شَابٍّ — a young man. An indefinite noun, no al-, so 'a young man', placed in the 'of'-style (genitive) ending because the comparative's preposition governs it. It is the benchmark of disgrace, and the relative clauses after it describe his contradictory behaviour.
