Arabic vocabulary
السُّنَّةَ is how you say “the Sunnah” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَهَلْ شَيْءٌ أَقْبَحُ مِنْ شَابٍّ يَخْدِمُ السُّنَّةَ وَلَا يَعْمَلُ بِهَا ؟
Is there anything more disgraceful than a young man who serves the Sunnah and does not act on it?
السُّنَّةَ — the Sunnah. A definite noun with al-, but pronounced 'as-sunna' because the l of al- assimilates into the following sun letter. It is the direct object of 'serves', the thing the young man attends to, the contradiction being that he serves it yet does not act on it.
