Arabic vocabulary
How to say “all of it” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
شَرِبَ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي فِي النَّهْرِ كُلَّهُ أَوْ افْتَدَى مِنْهُ
He drank all the water that was in the river, or he redeemed himself from it.
كُله — all of it. This is the word for 'all/the whole' with the pronoun '-hu' (it) attached. It works as an emphasiser doubling back on 'the water', stressing that every bit was drunk. Arabic places this quantifier after the noun with a matching pronoun, a built-in way of saying 'the water, all of it'.
