Then Budayl ibn Warqa said, "These are the fires of the sons of Amr."
عَمْرِو — Amr. The clan name 'Amr' as the final owner in the chain 'the fires of the sons of Amr', and as the last owned noun it sits in the genitive. Its classical spelling keeps a silent trailing letter, but its grammatical job is simply to close the possessive chain.
