How to say “asking questions” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّ الاِسْتِحْيَاءَ فِي التَّسَاؤُلِ عَنْ أَمْرِ الشَّرْعِ مَذْمُومٌ،
And that feeling ashamed to ask about a matter of religious law is blameworthy.
التَّسَاؤُلِ — asking questions. Carries al- ('the') and is an action-noun naming the act of asking questions, the object of 'in' before it, so it takes the genitive ending. The word's shape carries a sense of mutual or repeated questioning. It names the very activity one should not be ashamed of.
