Arabic vocabulary
How to say “attainment” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
حُرِمُوا وَاللَّهِ الْوُصُولَ،
By God, they were deprived of attainment.
الْوُصُولَ — attainment. A noun meaning 'the attaining' (it names the act of reaching the goal as a thing), and it is the direct object of the passive verb, what they were deprived OF. Its accusative ending marks that object role, so the sentence says they were cut off from arrival.
From: Ignoring God's Guidance →وَضَمِنَ إِبْلِيسُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ الْوُصُولَ إِلَيْهَا
And Iblis assured his companions that they would reach it.
الْوُصُولَ — the reaching. This is an action-noun, a noun built from a verb that names the act of 'reaching' rather than describing a thing. It stands as the content that was assured, the direct object of the verb, so it takes the object (accusative) ending. The al- ('the') makes the reaching a specific, definite act.
