بَدَأَتْ مَجَالِسُ ابْنِ الْجَوْزِيِّ تَسْتَقْطِبُ النَّاسَ،
Ibn al-Jawzi's gatherings began to attract people.
تَسْتَقْطِبُ — to attract. A present-tense verb meaning 'to attract'. It follows the starter verb 'began', forming 'began to attract'; Arabic chains them by simply placing this present form after the past starter rather than using an infinitive marker. Its subject ties back to the gatherings.
