How to say “be permissible” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إن كان لا يرجى إسلامه لم يجز تعليمه
If his conversion to Islam is not anticipated, it is not permissible to teach him.
يَجُزْ — is permissible. Present in shape but pulled into the past and clipped (note the bare ending, no -u) by the 'lam' before it. It means 'it is not allowed' — the verdict when no conversion is hoped for.
