إن كان لا يرجى إسلامه لم يجز تعليمه
If his conversion to Islam is not anticipated, it is not permissible to teach him.
إِسْلَامُهُ — his conversion to Islam. An action-noun, 'his entering Islam,' with 'his' attached — the subject of 'is hoped for.' It is the outcome that, in this case, cannot be expected, which decides the ruling.
