How to say “become tired” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وقال علي بن أبي طالب روحوا القلوب واطلبوا لها طرف الحكمة فإنها تمل كما تمل الأبدان
Ali ibn Abi Talib said, 'Refresh the hearts and seek for them a portion of wisdom, for they get weary as bodies get weary.'
تَمَلُّ — get weary. A present-tense verb 'grow weary'; its doubled-root shape gives the worn-out sense. Because the hearts count as a non-human plural, the verb takes the feminine-singular 'it/they' form rather than a human plural, agreement English never marks.
