Arabic vocabulary
How to say “belief” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فجعلت أن تقول متى تصديقًا لما أتى من الوعد يا فتى،
So she began to say, 'When will you believe what has come of the promise, O young man?'
تَصْدِيقًا — belief. This noun is in the accusative, working as a reason-giving adverb, 'as belief / by way of crediting', which is Arabic's way of folding a 'because/in order to' sense into a single accusative noun. So the ending itself supplies the 'as a way of' meaning rather than a separate phrase.
