Arabic vocabulary
How to say “believe” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَمَا قَالَ تَعَالَى ﴿قُلْ لِعِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ﴾،
as He, Exalted be He, said: 'Say to My servants who have believed to establish prayer',
آمَنُوا — they believed. Past-tense verb meaning 'they believed', with the subject 'they' folded into the ending rather than written separately. The plural ending on the verb is what tells you a group, not one person, is the doer.
