Arabic vocabulary
How to say “both naked” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَعِنْدَ ذَلِكَ اِنْفَتَحَتْ أَعْيُنُهُمَا وَعَلِمَا أَنَّهُمَا عُرْيَانَانِ،
At that moment their eyes opened, and they realized they were naked.
عُرْيَانَانِ — both naked. An adjective 'naked' in the dual form, agreeing with the two-person subject of the 'that' clause. The '-ani' ending is the dual marker for exactly two, so the word itself carries 'both', describing Adam and Eve together.
