How to say “cause him to die” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَتْ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُمِتْهُ حَتَّى تُرِيهُ وُجُوهَ الْمُوْمِسَاتِ،
She said, "O Allah, do not let him die until You show him the faces of the prostitutes."
تُمِتْهُ — cause him to die. A present-shape verb pulled into its clipped form by the preceding 'do not', with '-hu' (him) attached as its object. The clipping is how Arabic marks a negative wish, and the suffix makes the prayer specific: do not cause HIM to die.
