How to say “challenge me” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَوْ يَظُنُّ الَّذِي يُبَارِزُنِي أَنْ يَسْبِقَنِي أَوْ يُفَوِّتَنِي؟
Or does the one who challenges me think that he will get ahead of me or pass me by?
يُبَارِزُنِي — challenge me. This verb is built on the do-against-someone pattern, here challenging to a duel, with -ni ('me') fused to its end as the object, so one word means 'challenges me'. The speaker is the target. The verb's pattern carries the mutual-confrontation sense.
