Arabic vocabulary
How to say “close one” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كان والله إذا أقبل كأنه رجع من دفن حميمه،
By Allah, when he approached, it was as if he were returning from burying a loved one.
حَمِيمِهِ — his loved one. This noun carries an attached 'his' and closes the 'burying of his loved one' pairing, so it takes the governed ending. The fused 'his' points back to the man himself, marking whose loved one was buried.
