Arabic vocabulary
لَذِيذٌ is how you say “delicious” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
واللذيذ أحمد لولا الإكثار منه وملازمة الطعام التفه
Delicious food is praiseworthy, were it not for overeating it, and sticking to bland food.
اللَّذِيذُ — the delicious. The al- makes this definite, 'the delicious food', and it opens the sentence as the topic. Arabic puts the topic noun first, then comments on it without any spoken 'is'; the definiteness frames it as the known thing being judged.
