Arabic vocabulary
How to say “directions are” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ لِأَنَّ الْأَرْبَعَ جِهَاتٌ تَدْخُلُهَا الْمُشَارَكَةُ فِي الْأَعْمَالِ
He said: Because the four directions are where association enters into deeds.
جِهَات — directions are. A broken plural, 'directions', here the comment made about the fronted 'four', so it serves as the predicate of the 'because the four are directions...' clause. As the predicate after 'anna' it stays in the plain subject-style ending while the topic before it took the accusative.
