Arabic vocabulary
How to say “duties” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَآمَنُوا جَمِيعًا أَنَّ تَبْلِيغَ الرِّسَالَةِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ وَاجِبَاتِهِمْ
And they all believed that conveying the message was part of their duties.
وَاجِبَاتِهِمْ — their duties. A plural noun carrying the attached possessor '-hum' = 'their', referring to the believers. Because it is the object of the part-to-whole 'from', it sits in the genitive; the suffix folds the owner directly onto the noun instead of using a separate possessive word.
