Arabic vocabulary
How to say “expiation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَحْلِفُ أَنَا عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ يَمِينًا لَا كَفَّارَةٌ لَهَا
So I swear by that an oath that has no expiation for it.
كَفَّارَة — expiation. The noun whose existence the 'no...' just denied, naming the religious release the oath would normally allow. Standing under that category-negation, it is declared simply not to be.
